Bio-Data for Jim Chalmers Acupuncturist.
Jim Chalmers has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine and specialising in Acupuncture for the past twenty-four years. Following extensive travels throughout Asia in the late 60's and onwards Jim married a Singaporean Lady of Chinese descent. By the early 80's his personal experiences of treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) inspired a career change and after a four-year course of TCM study in Australia he was awarded a Bachelor Of Acupuncture degree. In 1991 he travelled to China to pursue postgraduate, clinical hands-on training in Hospitals in Nanning , Southern China .
Jim Chalmers joined the executive of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) becoming a Director of the Association and Chair of the Standing Committee for Continuing Professional Education. In 1998 Jim led a delegation from the AACMA to the State Administration of Chinese Medicine China to view training facilities and negotiate Continuing Education exchanges with the Chinese authorities.
Has been approved for registration under Australian Government (Victoria) regulations for the Registration of Chinese Medicine Practitioners (Acupuncture) Trained in the Nogier system of Auricular Therapy and Auricular Medicine. Worked in a Holistic Medicine Centre Australia for 3 years as part of a team specialising in environmental medicine, nutrition and diet. 2 Years part time voluntary Acupuncturist at Cancer Palliative Care Centre, Mater Public Hospital Brisbane Australia . Extensive Clinical experience in Australia , Singapore and China
